Little Legends Child Development Center is co-owned and operated by Kelly Ruland and Brenda Hansen. We have 31 years of combined experience in childcare. Kelly earned her bachelors degree from Minot State University and has been in the childcare business since 2007. Brenda also earned a bachelors degree from Minot State University and has been in the childcare business since 2010. In 2015 we came together and opened our own child care center.
We teach the children all about life, and the children teach us what life is all about!
At Little Legends we design our own curriculum to engage young minds to think about how things work, and allow them to explore their world through our daily routines. We approach teaching the children with a youthful spirit. If we are having fun teaching them, they will in turn be having fun learning with us. Our curriculum by design allows the children to ask questions about what we are teaching and guide the learning through curiosity.

Ms. Brenda

Ms. Brenda has been in the childcare field since 2010 and has been managing her own center since 2015.

Hello, My name is Brenda, I got into the Child Care business as a cook at a center in 2010. I loved being around all of the children during the day so much that I changed my job within that center to a preschool teacher. It didn't take too long and I knew that I wanted to make a lifelong career in child care. I started to complete training and working towards the assistant director position at the Center. In 2014 I was offered a co-directorship. I completed my directors training and became the director there in 2015. In 2017 we had an opportunity to move our daycare to a new building that is located closer to the center of the city and more accessible to families.

In my experience and training I have developed a love for all different children and all the unique qualities they bring to the table. I couldn't imagine working in any other field, this is what I was meant to do.

Ms. Kelly has been in the childcare field since 2007 and has been managing her own center since 2015.

My Name is Kelly, I have always known that I wanted to work with children. I started my child care journey when I was in college in the summer of 2007, at a daycare in my hometown. I realized how much I truly enjoyed the preschool ages. They are learning and growing every day, it is an exciting and important time in their lives. When I returned to college in Minot the next year I knew I wanted to find a part time job at a local daycare. I worked as much as possible, and worked full time during the summer. When I graduated from Minot State University in 2009, I took a full time position at the daycare with preschool kiddos. I became the assistant director and soon thereafter, in 2014, became the director. In the fall of 2015 I took over ownership of that daycare, and in 2017 moved the daycare to a more city central site at Vincent United Methodist Church.

I am able to use my years of training and experience to help train and guide our staff in their own child care journey.
